Experience
I currently teach a high school gifted education class, and also with a biology class at a local community college. I have extensive experience as a tutor, and I have helped teach many subjects to students of all ages, including ESL students and those with disabilities. I tutor math courses ranging from basic arithmetic to algebra, many science courses, and a variety of other subjects. I also enjoy helping students prepare for tests of all types. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University where I earned a master's degree in Biology with a concentration on Population Genetics. During college, I tutored and taught biology courses. I also worked with young students aged five through twelve in a Mad Science program. In addition, I am currently working as a tutor with an elementary after school program and, for several years, I have been helping students prepare for several sections of the SOL test, including chemistry, math, and biology. I have a true passion for teaching, and I don't consider it a job, but rather a very enjoyable part of my life! When not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I also like to cook and try new, exciting foods.
